*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:1301 - I think Dr. K is a great teacher but in general Chemistry can be pretty difficult. I went to her office hours every week to practice problems that would be on quizzes and tests. We had less homework than other Chemistry classes and she will drop some quizzes which is nice. However, I did not do as well on the final as the other Chemistry exams but I think she is one of the better Chemistry teachers at Baylor! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - 1301- overall an easy class, especially with a little bit of prior knowledge. Her exams are all multiple choice, general knowledge, no gotcha questions or complicated math. However, her teaching ability is lacking. It sometimes seems like she prioritizes being the fun, edgy professor more than teaching the material- jokes about cyanide instead of teaching the class about ions, etc. It\'s really not that bad if you just lock in and study the bits you don\'t know though. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - Her class was not hard. She dropped the lowest exam grade and only put in our 10 best homeworks and quizzes. The exams and quiz questions are not hard at all. All multiple choice. If you had AP Chem experience, you'll do great. These are easier questions than those. Overall, good class. I didn't really give it my best tho. slept during some of the class too... She's a funny prof too. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1305 - The best professor! She's super fun and encouraging, making me want to attend class. Her grading is fair; as long as you study and understand the material, you'll get an A. I struggled with chemistry and didn’t think I’d pass, but attending office hours for help made a big difference. Her tests are all on paper, consisting of multiple-choice or true/false questions. Quizzes are on paper and Aktiv (primarily online, no lockdown but timed), and there’s one homework assignment per chapter. You only need to score 70% on homework for it to count as 100%. - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:1301 - I. Love. Dr. Klausmeyer. Seriously, she made my first semester so much better at Baylor. She is very funny and makes the lectures entertaining. (Who can make the various gas laws fun? Dr. K can!) The only reason I did not rate her 5 in all areas is because she's not great at answering emails and she also assigns us weekly homework. But, she is very good about office hours and the times I have gone have been very helpful. Also, the homework is not bad whatsoever. It has never taken me more than 30 minutes. The tests were very easy, especially if you review the notes and attend SI sessions. (They were also all multiple choice, with a few being T/F) She also drops a couple of quiz and homework grades, as well as a whole exam grade. I loved this class, and I wish I could take her for Chem II as well. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:FOR 1390 - Dr. Klausmeyer for surgery of forensic science was unexpectedly amazing. I love the way she interacted with the material and shared cases that applied to what we were learning. Even though she has a chem background she does not let that take over the class and there is not any hard math or chem on the tests. Her tests are simple and straightforward from what she teaches., - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - TAKE HER. She seriously is great and wants everyone to pass her class. She is great in lectures and really cares about her students. There are 4 exams and a final. She curves test if the average is bad. HER FINAL WAS KILLER I WILL SAY. She also does her homework and participation as a entire exam grade which is HUGE and will bump you a whole letter grade. Her office hours are great too and she does round grades.take her - Grade In Class:C
Comments:1301 - I took her my first semester freshman year, and was my favorite professor at Baylor and still is. The test were all multiple choice about 30 questions and most were straight forward. However, there are a few "tricky questions" but if you study you will not have a problem. This is a college level chemistry class so no matter who you take you will have to study a good amount. That is a universal truth for college science classes. There is a reason STEM is hard. I can not recommend her enough. She gives you all the formulas, constants, and other things that you would normally have to memorize. This is a pretty rare thing btw! The final was all reused test questions, and she lets you look and copy all the questions down from your old test before the final. The homework is pretty much a grade boost. I see people hating on the homework, but she does not control it. This is a departmental thing, not a professor thing. At the end of the day, it is a buffer for your test grades, so that your whole grade is not dependent on your exams. The only reason I put a 4 star in the workload is because, again, this is a college chemistry class, so there is definitely work to be done. Take her! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:CHE 1301 - Dr. Klausmeyer is a decent professor but not a great one. She enjoys putting tricky/difficult questions on her tests to try and trip you up. There are 4 tests, none of them dropped, no quizzes, and in the end she let us do a final replacement which is the only reason I got above a C- in this class but that option wasn't given to us until the last week of class so idk if it's a case-by-case basis thing or if she does that will all her classes. She is pretty good at teaching if you pay attention and take good notes. Her final is just old test questions so make sure you review your tests after you're done. I wouldn't take her again because if you do poorly on one test you're screwed because the only real grades in her class are tests. - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:CHE 1301 - I took Dr. Klausmeyer in the spring and if you are looking for the best possible grade in chem 1, take her. Her tests are straightforward and she will never test you on something that she did not cover in lecture. I only attended SIs for the practice exam sessions and her tests were always pretty reflective of them. I taught myself everything but honestly that's how it has been for me anyways in STEM classes considering that they have so much content to go through and they're essentially reading off of a powerpoint which they share with you. This is harsh but if anyone is leaving a bad review for her and got a poor grade it's probably because they have not mastered study techniques yet. This is like the easiest science class you will take if you are a pre-med so I strongly reccomend her. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - DO NOT TAKE!!! Her first 3 exams were easy, but her last exam was the worst thing i've ever taken. She was building up our confidence in chem, just waiting for our downfall after that last exam. She's very sadistic... always happy whenever she sees us struggling during the test. She doesn't know what she's talking about half of the time and her calculations are ALWAYS wrong. She NEVER curves the exam and will purposely make the next exam harder if our class average is high for an exam. She doesn't drop test questions even if no one gets the question right. She goes on tangents, and sometimes skips over the important information, while putting questions on ACTIV that we don't need to know for the test. Her exams consist of 31 multiple choice. Overall, If i could go back in time, I wouldn't take her. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:CHE 1301 - To be honest, Riz is the best you'll get for chem. She was the easiest prof when I took her (Spring '23) but that definitely doesn't mean easy A. This was my first non A in college and this class ate my lunch. It's difficult but doable and I would still recommend it for everyone. She's kind, funny, and interesting and great at explaining concepts. I studied a lot for this course and still ended up failing (enough people failed that the class was curved and I got a C). This class reflected the rigor I would expect from a weed out stem class. Aleks homework was easy and exams and final were difficult but not insane. Put the work in and you'll be fine. TL;DR hard but worth it - Grade In Class:C
Comments:1301 - Very easy class. Exams are very generous with a 93 A. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - If you want a chem professor "easy professor" look no further. Her test is made to trick you so watch out. DR.K is not a bad professor but be prepared to be tricked on her test. She only takes 10 Aleks homework so that is good. Her class also does not drop any tests and exams are 90 percent of your grade. Also, there is no curve. Overall not a bad chem professor, but don't expect to learn chemistry for your upper-level chem classes. - Grade In Class:D
Comments:1301 - I LOVE THIS WOMAN she is funny, great prof, records her lectures, didn't take attendance and great notes. A perfect woman. take her - Grade In Class:A
Comments:CHE 1301 - Riz is the BEST! If you have a background with chemistry in high school, she will just add bits you never learned. If not, her lectures are detailed and explained enough that you will still be able to have a generous A. Put in the work just as any chem class, and go to her office hours! Definitely definitely take her for chem 1! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - I have mixed feelings about Dr. K. She really does want you to succeed and is very helpful in her office hours and outside of class. She is extremely enthusiastic and engaging in person. That said, her testing strategy gave me nightmares. On our third test, she intentionally dropped our class average (and told us just that), while making the questions very tricky, and she had the potential for tricky questions on other tests. So while I find her to be a charming and competent lecturer, I also find her to be slightly sadistic. Also, if you haven't taken a hardish chem class before, this may bite you because she doesn't assign much homework, it's up to you to learn the material and practice for her quizzes and tests. Overall, a good introduction to chem if you know what's coming and how to use her as a resource (for the love of all that is good, go to her office hours). - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:1301 - STAN DR. K!! she's literally the sweetest, the most pure, and most amazing soul. Her accent is the cutest thing ever and her test were so darn easy. the final is literally past test questions just with numbers changed. SUPER EASY A!!! there is a slight workload though, we had 10? quizzes and she drops your lowest two. they were 8 questions every week and out of 16 points. we also had hw assignments which were just completion points. definitely take her for an easy A - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1305 - Literally one of the nicest professors at Baylor. She is always willing to help with literally anything, even if it isn't related to chemistry. She truly cares about you as a person and wants you to succeed! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - Dr.K was an ok teacher. I do not think her teaching style worked the greatest for me, but her tests were really difficult. She definitely uses her SI's practice tests in her own tests along with her own questions, but you have to put in 150% of work to get a good grade in her class if you were not the best at chem in high school. Her slides are helpful. Only take her if you have an affinity for chem and have taken AP chem in highschool. If not, I do not recommend, a little too difficult. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:CHE1301 - I am not a fan of chemistry, and I don’t think I would’ve done as well in the class without her!! She is a very sweet and funny lady! She cares a lot about making sure her students understand the material and has office hours often to go over homework. Her class was so hard for me to pay attention in, but doing the problems from the notes and SI definitely help. Try to do well on the weekly quizzes because they really can make or break your grade, even though they don’t seem like they do much. She seems like one of the best 1301 professors, so overall I’d recommend!! Definitely a doable class!! Such a good teacher! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:1301 - Dr. Klausmeyer is so so so sweet! She is charismatic and forgiving. Her class operated without a textbook or OWL, and a lot of my friends have been jealous because of that. So as with most classes, wait to purchase the textbook until stated what to purchase from the professor. She gave one weekly quiz and one weekly homework. Dropped 2 quizzes and only required 8 homework submissions. Goddess. Her tests have been pretty easy, given that I took AP Chem in high school- all multiple choice. I would 100% take her again. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:General Chem 1 - She is one of the best professors I have ever had! Her tests are very fair, and she will make sure you feel prepared before her tests. Her quizzes boost your grade, and she will always tell you what day they will be on. Dr.K cares a lot about her students and what she teaches, and I wish more professors were like her! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:CHE 3332 - Dr. K is the best OCHEM teacher I have had so far. She makes the course make sense and prepared me very well for the ACS final (got a B). That being said, OCHEM is not a cakewalk; you have to work. Do well on the exams so that you can slack on the final. The class is awesome, and Dr. K is a wonderful person in general. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:CHE 3332 (O Chem 2) - First of all, don't buy the textbook. You won't use it. Structure is 10 quizzes (drop 1), online homework (due at the end of the semester), 4 tests, and the ACS final. The tests get exponentially harder. Teaching style is fun and energetic. She goes over powerpoint slides that she makes with blanks and you fill them in and take notes on them. They're very helpful, and she tests entirely off of them, but they don't go in depth. Luckily, when it comes down to it, the entire course of O Chem 2 is over about 10 broad concepts, which you don't need to understand in depth until the ACS final, which is difficult. Study the ACS guide - it does a great job of explaining and gelling everything K teaches throughout the semester. She only curved it 5 points though so give your grade some breathing room because only 3 people got A's on it. Most people I talk to seem to think she's the most fun and possibly easiest O Chem professor, but won't prepare you as well as Garner, Pinney, or Coppola (who is visiting and may no longer be at Baylor.) - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331/3332 - Dr. K is an excellent teacher. She teaches very clearly and doesn't waste time teaching topics that won't be on the test. The material covered on tests comes solely from the powerpoint slides she presents in class, so you probably won't even need to get the textbook. I recommend going to the SI sessions or at least going through the SI worksheets before each test. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331/3332 - Dr. Klausmeyer is the greatest teacher I've ever had. End of story. The people who complain about her have no sense of humor, or are drunken frat stars who don't give a crap anyways. Her class is tough, but you learn a decent amount of Organic Chemistry. Honestly, she's been doing this for like 14 years, so I think she knows what she's doing. TAKE HER IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!! You have to study for her class. This is OChem. This is where we weed out those who can and cannot do. It's PHASE 2 of the weeding out process for Pre-Med kids. So yeah, it's not a cake walk, but she is super helpful and VERY good at explaining the chemistry behind it. Go to her office hours and get to know her! She loves her little monkeys.... But don't be that annoying kid that never leaves her alone. She's got a sassy side and she's not afraid to tell you that you're bothering her. Spunk is a good word for her, and she's such a breath of fresh air in the chemistry department. TAKE HER! - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:CHE 3331 - Avoid this teacher if you want to learn and actually be taught. Very entertaining and "fun" teacher so the classes aren't too boring but she wastes too much time on simple material and then breezes through the material that is complicated and needs to be taught in depth. She shaves off material that is essential to making mechanisms and reactions understandable in order to "fit" the material into the class time. She lets out the class 15 minutes early nearly everyday (TTR) when that time could have been used to get through material. She never curves exams and purposefully makes her averages 70 or less. If the average was a 78 she will make the next exam harder so the average is closer to a 70 or lower. She has multiple errors on the exams/practice exams but will not drop questions/give points. Tests were hard and very tricky. She states that her purpose on tests is to trick you. No homework, just power points and quizzes every thursday. SI is really no help, he goes over the same material she goes over and usually cannot answer questions effectively but talks in circles. The tests would usually contain at least one or two questions that were off of minute information she spent less than 2 minutes on in lecture. Beware that when she gets behind she stops teaching in class and starts posting lectures online for you to listen to (rambling and inadequate explanations apply) and then makes the tests according to if she had taught in detail during an actual lecture. She is IMPOSSIBLE to meet with. You have to schedule an appointment several days in advance by signing up on a sign in sheet outside her door (the sign up sheet is usually full so try going when she first puts them up). She does not make standing appointments, you cannot make more than two in a week and she won't "do your homework for you" which means helping you work through problems on her worksheets that she hands out. Sapling is a joke and is a completion grade so its a free 80 points. The final in this class was a departmental final that covered mechanisms in depth, which she entirely skips. So the final is very difficult unless you can teach yourself all of the mechanisms without any help. I made a 91, 91, 88, 55 (this is the exam on alcohols that she gave up teaching and posted online lectures and then did nothing but spiders on the board for the preceding 5 class days) on the exams preceding the final with a 98 quiz average, no absences and I received a B in the class after the final exam. Would not take this teacher again if given a choice. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:3331 - Not worth taking this class. She's very nice and energetic. Towards the beginning of this course, it is not bad. However towards the end she makes everything difficult. This is because you have to learn on your own by watching her videos she posts online. Not worth it. Take another Ochem professor because you want the professor to actually teach you. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:3331/3332 - Organic chemistry is a hard class regardless of who you take it with. I had honors CHEM 1 and 2 with Dr. Pennington and made a B+ both times, so my grades got better with harder material. She is one of the best professors I've had at Baylor: she actually stands in front of the class and teaches students, not just reading from powerpoint slides. I wish I could take Biochem with her. She's interesting during lectures and is very fair. She curved all of the tests up to an average of around 73 but wouldn't curve down if the average was above that. The material can be dense, but if you spend an hour or so a day going over what you've learned, you should do well. Don't try to learn it all the week of the test because it's a lot and it can get confusing. Study for quizzes because they count more than a test. Tests are pretty similar to practice tests she gives. I loved this class. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331/3332 - Dr. K is a good teacher. The Sapling homework doesn't help on the tests a ton, but it can point out areas of weakness in your understanding. Unlike some other people, I don't think she purposely tries to trick you in exams, though there are some times when you need to pay attention (for instance, the question will say which isomer of C5H12 is the most stable, and one of the choices will look right but will be C6H14 instead). So they're not impossible, mean tricks-you just need to pay attention to what you're doing. And even those are very few and far between. Basically, if you learn the notes well, you'll do fine. I also found that doing the book problems helped me memorize the nuances of the reactions better, so if you have a tough chapter, I recommend doing some of those. Overall, great teacher and work load (other than studying) is light. I also thinks she really prepares you well for the MCAT so that's awesome too. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331/3332 H - Dr. K is great. Ochem is going to be hard at times no matter who you take, but she at least makes it doable and fairly enjoyable. She is funny and quirky in class, which at least makes you able to pay attention during the slow days, and unlike what some people say, she really does care if you learn and understand the material. I think some people have a problem when professors expect you to learn or remember or clarify things on your own, but lets be honest, you're in a college ochem class now....its time to start being responsible for learning. If you use the slides and take good notes, you'll do fine. And if, after studying the slides you still don't understand something, she's always happy to help. She never seems to be in a bad mood, and is very reasonable about curves, moving tests for miserable weeks, or bonus points if she thinks the class deserves it. Overall good teacher, probably the best one for Ochem at Baylor, and fun to be around. But no matter what, you're going to have to work hard for OChem... that's just the nature of the class. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331/3332 - She is the best organic chem professor you are going to find. You don't need to buy a book. Let me repeat that--YOU DON'T NEED TO BUY A BOOK for her class, she posts that stuff on blackboard and her slides are magical. Pay attention in class, print out the lecture slides, and invest in some colored pens/highliters so that you can write how she writes. Doing that will save your life. Also, quizzes--study for them, process of elimination is a great strategy if you aren't sure. Her tests are legit--so study for them too. Go to her office if you don't understand something--just do it. The final is that standardized test thing...I forgot the name, anyway, that thing is ridiculously hard so make sure you do well on her tests. She curves the final. If you can get a spot in her class, keep it. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:3331 - Dr. Klausmeyer is an awesome person, but her tests can be brutal sometimes. She intentionally tries to trick you on them which is annoying because falling for her tricks doesn't prove that you didn't learn the material. I did the worst on the first exam, and then my other test grades stayed about the same ranging from 84-86. There are 4 tests, 8 quizzes, online sapling homework, and then a comprehensive final. All of the tests are 20 multiple choice questions, and the final is 50 multiple choice questions. She doesn't drop anything, but she curves if the class average on any test is below a 70. Her class is difficult and requires a lot of studying, but I would highly recommend taking her because she's the best from what there is to choose from for organic chemistry. The other o chem classes require a lot more studying to do well. I studied the night before and the day of for all of Klausmeyer's tests including the final and made a B, so an A is definitely do-able in her class. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:3331 - Dr. Klausmeyer is AWESOME! She is hilarious and entertaining. She kept the class interesting with her goofiness. She requires Sapling homework, which is done online and is not bad, but it gets harder in last few chapters. She will give you full credit if you just get 5 points or above. In the beginning, I aimed for the full 8 points, but I got lazy and just got 5 points for the last chapters. All of the quizzes are announced. All, but one of them was multiple choice. They were pretty easy. She gives an extra point on the quizzes so the max number of points you can get is 16. The first two exams were supposedly the "easiest," but I did a lot better on the last two "harder" ones. She curved the last two exams. I made A's on both of them without the curve. I learned how she tests and got the hang of her tricky questions. I advise you to READ the question carefully. The only reason I didn't do as well on the first two exams was because I rushed through them and made really dumb mistakes. The final was comprehensive 50 multiple choice. I managed to make a 100 and only studied for 4 hours, but I already studied for the past exams so it was just reviewing. I highly recommend taking Dr. K. She is very nice and helpful. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - Klausmeyer gives out an average amount of homework, but that homework does not prepare you for the questions on the exams. She explains in great detail all of the concepts that are easy to understand, yet does not elaborate on concepts that will really help you understand organic chemistry. She does not properly teach the mechanisms of organic chemistry, she merely requires that you memorize the outcomes. I attended every class and did every homework assignment, but this class did not teach me to think critically about organic chemistry and was academically frustrating. - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:3332 - She def tries to trick you on her tests!! Just study here old tests if you can get them and go over all her notes at least 2 times and do the homework! - Grade In Class:C
Comments:CHE 3332 - Dr. Klausmeyer's O. Chem II class is a lot tougher than her O. Chem I class. However, this is due to the material and not her teaching efforts. She is one of the best professors around. Organic Chemistry is hard, but she makes it much more understandable. Her exams can be brutal at times, but if you study hard, you'll do fine. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - Klausmeyer is a very nice prof. But her tests are VERY TRICKY!!!! She intentionally tries to trick you on it. The quizzes are not that hard if you do your homework and go to SI. But you need her old tests to do well on her tests. But she will not put the exact questions from the old tests on it, instead she will change one or two words to trick you again! And worst of all, the tests are only 20 multiple choice, who if you miss 3 its down to an 85! - Grade In Class:C
Comments:FORS chem - WALK CLASS!!!! This is an amazing class to take if you need a boost to your GPA! No attendance taken, the class never went longer than 30 minutes, and the tests (4 in all) were all either open book/notes/friends, or take home for two weeks. I cannot believe this actually counts as a forensics class! On top of all of those good things, you have Dr. K, who makes it fun and is laid back about the whole class. Enjoy! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:CHE 3331, 3332 - Dr. K is one of the best professors I have ever had. She's funny, lively, and presents the material in a clear and concise manner. She doesn't give out a lot of homework that you have to turn in, but in order to succeed in the class you have to do all the problems she assigns in the book. Quizzes usually came straight from old tests problems, so study those before the quiz. The tests are multiple choice, but this does not mean that they are easy. She has plenty of wrong answer traps so make sure you understand and look over EVERYTHING in the notes because most times there is stuff in the notes that you might not have practiced from the homework or the book problems. I would highly recommend anyone to Dr. K if you are willing to put in the extra effort to learn ochem. Putting in the extra work will pay off big dividends and you should probably end up with an A in the class. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:CHE 3332 - Dr. K is hilarious some days. Her jokes keep class entertaining. CHE 3332 is definitely much easier than 3331. Her quizzes are usually based off the homework and the book problems. They aren't difficult at all. Her tests are tricky and require an understanding of the material. It's not necessary to read the book at all. I didn't even pick up the book once. Just look over her slides and know them very well. Doing the book problems does help, so make sure you do them. Her exams are multiple choice, but that doesn't mean they are easy. Many times you are down to two choices and you can't decide between the two. She curves based on each class' performance, so you might not get the same curve as someone who takes her class at a different time. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - Dr. K is nice, and there is really not any better option for ochem. The first class is tough, but definitely doable. Multiple choice, with some homework. Definitely read the book. If you don't you are not gonna do well. She curves sometimes. 3331 is not too bad. But 3332 is way harder, and Dr. K decided about a month into the ochem 2 class to quit curving and she told us she was gonna make the second and third tests of ochem 2 way hard. So that wasn't very nice. Also, totally avoid her honors class. Seriously. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - She is an excellent teacher. The course consists of four tests and the final. Occasionally you'll have homework assignments and when the HW is due, you'll have a little quiz. Don't study the night before, you will fail. She's really popular so it's tough to visit her in her office hours. I would say definitly take her over any other O.Chem teacher. For real. her tests are all mult. choice. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - she is AWFUL!!!! yes her class is much more doable than other ochem professors, but you learn hardly anything especially if you have to take another professor for ochem 2. she doesnt teach mechanisms that much whereas other professors want them ingrained in your head. she is very very unfair and lazy- everything is multiple choice and you really dont get a chance to actually do mechanisms. tests were so unlike what she prepares you for. quizzes are a joke...and so is the homework..you can copy them straight from the solutions manual. the final is hell..anyways i just really disliked her because basically she taught two sections and gave one section somewhere around 30 points in curves whereas my class got 3. had i been in the other class i would have gotten an a. i tried talking to her about it saying it wasnt fair, but shes not very smart and totally avoided my petition and said indirectly that i was not smart..which really really got me mad. take pinney for ochem he is seroiusly soooooo much better, he makes ochem fun and understandable. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:3331 - Dr. K is hilarious. She makes class so entertaining and has a great style of presentation. Her quizzes count for a large part of your grade, so make sure you study for them and get as many points as possible. Do the homework problems in the book. They are good practice. He tests are all multiple choice, but that does not mean they are easy. She tries to trick you, and it works a majority of the time. Her final isn't as ridiculous as some people make it out to be, just go over the lecture notes and you'll be fine. You really do have to work for your grade in her class. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:3331 - she is very nice. if you're willing to study ochem, then its an easy A - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - She is a very nice teacher. I love the way she teaches class. You print off powerpoints for each chapter and go over them in class. She gives you easy homework but you should defintly do it. The quizzes are kinda tough but they help with the exams. She puts up review sheets for each exam which are multiple choice. The final was tough. You should study a lot. Her office hours are flexible. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:3331 - Fantastic notes. Plenty of questions to get your feet wet before the exam (VERY IMPORTANT...PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT). Undivided attention when you come in for help. And a happy disposition when it comes to teaching. Why not take her???? - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:3332 - i'm not sure why people think that dr. k is biased and unfair - her class is difficult and she does expect a lot from you, but she is also willing to work with you - she is available for office hours a lot and will explain things to you - she also gave us old tests to study from and held weekly review sessions - she quizzes weekly and her tests are multichoice and tricky, but if you work hard and know the material, you should do fine - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - Before I signed up for O. Chem, I was like everyone else. I looked up professors' ratings to help me decide which prof. to take. Since students gave positive feedbacks on her, I signed up for her class. After taking her class, I'd have to say that despite her friendly smiles and hyper personality, she is pretty biased. She only favors certain students who converse with her regularly and "suck up" to her. She is often moody and impolite, and her "so-call-sweet personality" is reserved for those who likes in her class. Therefore, do not trust these ratings. People are quite extremists when it comes to opinions -- they either REALLY like the prof. or REALLY HATE the prof. Take it from me, I stand in the middle and realize that some profs. are not what they actually seem. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331/3332 - She really brightens your day when you set foot in her class, she can be pretty hyper in the morning. Know your reactions and STUDY. Her tests are difficult 25 mult choice. She doesn't curve that much because she feels the grade you get is what you deserve. She likes keeping the class avg at 70 and gets upset if it's higher than that. Her office hrs are 20 min slots which can be difficult to obtain by signing up at her door bc of her popularity. Overall, I loved her class and learned alot even though her tests made me feel like crap. - Grade In Class:C
Comments:3331 - Absolutely amazing. I'm not a natural when it comes to science, but I completely forgot that when it came to her class because she teaches so freaken well. And if I didn't understand her she never hesitated to help me. TAKE HER, YOU WON'T REGRET IT. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:3331 - I didn't like the class, and the final was too hard! - Grade In Class:B
Comments:CHE3331/3332 - Klausmeyer is an excellent teacher. She was fairly easy(given that you put in a lot of work) for 3331, but got a TON harder for 3332. Her quizzes are typically very similar to the homework so do the homework well. Tests are multiple choice and curving is somewhat limited so keep that in mind. Just take notes on her ppt slides, study them well, and do sample problems she gives you as well as all of the assigned book problems and you should be fine. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3332 - I had her for 3331 and 3332, and you will be so glad to have her. She actually makes this class enjoyable, and in my opinion, she is one of the best professors at Baylor! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - I got my first C EVER in this class. It's probably not her fault though. O-chem is just...hard. *shrug* She taught well, but she's somewhat condescending at times - I found Primrose (3332) to be much more approachable. Tons of students like her and teaching style. I didn't do terribly better in Primrose's 3332 class, but I felt like I learned more from him. - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:3331 - Hands down, she is the best professor at Baylor. This is why we pay big bucks to go to this school! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:CHE 1301 - OMG! i'll miss her! she's great! she teaches everything with a special technique that is truly her own! do her homework, not too long, not too easy..she wants you to get the concepts (after all that's what the class is called) you wont want to miss a single class for THIS Dr K! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - Oh, Dr. K if only you weren't already married... no, but seriously I am in love with this woman. She is my all time favorite teacher. Smart, funny, beautiful... she has it all. I should have made an A in this class, but with 18 hours and a sport, I had little time to give to this class. To make it worse, most of my tests were scheduled the same day! So what am I trying to say? With Dr. K, with some time here and there, you too can perform marginally well in O. Chem I! TAKE HER BECAUSE SHE'S AWESOME!!! - Grade In Class:B
Comments:3331 - OCHEM...is difficult. Her class I think is easier than what I originally thought ochem would be. Study the ppts, but also try to skim through the book, b/c it helps a ton. Her class is too easy for the MCAT, but easy A compared to primose or others. Good luck. Know your reactions really well, and you'll do okay! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - Yeah, so obviously I didn't get Ochem that well, it's just not my strongest point. Some people who have a strong mind for this kind of material soared through the course, and those who struggled, like me, did not. My grade however should be absolutely no indication of Dr. K's ability to teach, she is great! There is a reason why she's basically the campus favorite for these killer courses. She is not as available as she could be, the sheet on her door filled up incredibly fast and it was hard to get in to see her. Study hard and good luck! - Grade In Class:D
Comments:3331 - Klausmeyer is definitely one of the best teachers I have had at Baylor. She is extremely nice and makes class a lot of fun. She's always cracking jokes, but at the same time really teaches you the material. Her powerpoints are really helpful and make sure you study for the quizzes. Also make sure you turn in the homework especially since she doesn't grade it and only checks for completion, but it does help if you really try. Go to her review sessions too because she gives you a lot of answers and works through all the problems. She's a great prof!!! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:chem 3331/2 - Dr. Klausmeyer kicks ass!! She is the best teacher I've ever had. She is amazing. She knows her stuff, and allows you to as well. She's a freakin genius. I got an A in both semesters, but then again it only contributes to my 4.0. so compare yourself to me if you want.. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - Dr.K is a very funny teacher. She cares whether her students are doing well in her class. There are 11 quizzes and 11 homeworks, but she drops the lowest from each category. Attend her SI Sessions, because she goes through the homework with you. I learned alot from the SI Sessions, because she has more time to explain the reactions and the problems. She also posts some of her old test on blackboard, so make sure you do the problems, because they help. Don't memorize the problems, because they won't be the same. She also takes time to go through the old tests with the class. It takes alot of work to get an A. Make sure you keep up with the lecture material and study. She is very good at grading the tests. She'll always give back the grades the next class period. I really enjoyed Dr.K's class, because Organic Chemistry is hard, but she makes it easier. Take her if you have the chance. I suck at chemistry and I managed to get an A! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:CHE 3331 - I had her in the fall and didn't get the grade I wanted but I learned a lot from her. All my other classes were A's, but I just didn't seem to get O-Chem. She is pretty good. Take her or Pinney. - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:CHE 3331 - Dr. K was the most accomodating professor I've had. All fo her office hours were scheduled while I had other classes and she was more than happy to set up other times to meet with me. Her tests were hard, even when I thought I knew the material, so make sure you keep up and ask questions if you're lost. I failed 2 of her tests and the final and still got a C+ so I thought that was pretty good! I'm taking her again, she is so nice and funny in class, I would definitely recommend her. - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:CHE 3331 - I had a 3.8 GPA before taking her and had all A's the semester I took it, but not for her class. She is rarely available. On the dead days before the final, she was extremely frustrated that so many people came to ask her questions and then she didn't even show up the next day. If she doesn't like teaching, then why is she a teacher. Very rude and even yelled at me in her office for simply discussing my grade with her. I can't stand the woman and I hope she reads this. - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:CHE 3331 - She is a lot harder than she used to be. She will give a really hard test followed by two easy ones and then the fourth will be the most insane test ever. Be prepared for anything on the test, even stuff that doesnt appear in the notes or book. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:3331 and 3332 - Work is optional for the class, but if you don't do the Homework you tend to do worse. People who say they hated her or didn't learn anything also are the ones who didn't do outside HW and didn't go in to ask her questions. She goes through reactions step by step and doesn't leave you in the dust. Tests are multiple choice, but are sometimes difficult. There are weekly in class or online quizzes. She is also a great person and VERY willing to help IF you work hard and put in the effort yourself. Studying only the lecture notes she provides will get you a decent grade on the exam (B-C). you really need to do more than that to make an A though. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - Dr K is a very funny professor. That is probably the best thing about the class, is that she keeps you awake in this boring subject. Her tests are multiple choice, and they are by no means easy. I don't think she teaches well in that you learn how to work the problem, but you don't completely understand why. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:Organic 2 - Although I didn't do very well in organic, I really liked her. She helped out a lot and is really funny. I think she must have been one of the best professors I've had at Baylor. I would take her if you have the chance!! - Grade In Class:C
Comments:3331 - i absolutely LOVED her! a very helpful, caring professor. takes time to explain things and answers any questions that you have in class. tests are hard, but it's organic chemistry. she makes the material fun and understandable. she doesn't give you any outside work. if you can get anyone for organic, get HER! - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3331 - I am a chem major and highly regret taking her class. If you must go beyond 3332 for your major, DO NOT take her class. This class does NOT prepare you with the organic you need for further classes. If you are looking for an easy class, take her. - Grade In Class:C+
Comments:Riz is one of the best professors I have ever had. Get to know her as a person and you'll love her even more as she's incredibly funny, personable, and helpful. She is always doing her utmost to make sure you learn and understand the material and is very straightforward, blunt, and open with what you do and do not have to know. Not everyone thinks she is easy, but I did, but that's only because you can sit in class and absorb everything you need to know for the tests. Her notes are extremely helpful and they have EVERYTHING that will be on her tests. All her notes can be printed off blackboard also. SHe makes this "nightmare class" into a pleasure cruise.
Comments:she's extremely nice, helpful, funny, and easy going. probably the easiest organic teacher. very down to earth and is very willing to help you out with anything. i definitely recommend her.
Comments:She is probably one of the best professors I've had at Baylor. As terrible as organic chemistry is, I have had fun in her class. She is one of a kind. Her lectures are great, and I really am understanding the material. She helps you as much as you need!! A++++!!!
Comments:She puts all the notes on blackboard, so you you can follow them during the lectures. The tests come strait for the quizes, and the quizes from the notes. She was fun and a good prof!!!
Comments:Had her for organic II....didn't like her...have heard she has gotten harder....organic II is much harder than I...
Comments:Dr. Riz is superb. I highly recommend her for Organic Chemistry. Her husband also teaches here, but I've never had him for a class.
Comments:Riz is one of the most intelligent, helpful, and fun chemistry professors I have ever had. I would highly recommend her for Organic Chemistry
