*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:3315 - DO NOT take her! I took her over study abroad thinking it was going to be and easy A, but I was wrong. She gave many pointless assignments and was a tough grader for no reason. We all had presentations to give and she didn't go over the rubric with us until the end. Also do not get on her bad side otherwise she will make you pay. DON'T TAKE HER AS A TEACHER! - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:Bus Comm - She seems really nice and patient with you at first. Over the course of the semester, she started to get passive aggressive and impatient. She will grade really difficult for things you wouldn't think would be graded that hard. Overall, she's nice as a person, but not really as a business professor. I would try to avoid her at all costs. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:BUS 3315 - First of all, I would like to say, my English has not gotten any better. Secondly, Prof. Assink is an English teacher who teaches Business Communication. This reflects the excessive grammar corrections that she makes in the essays. Business Communication is essential.. sure. However, you will not see anyone being picky with the emails they get nowadays. This makes for another course that teaches traditional business methodologies that are no longer practiced. Spring 2022. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:3315 - if you sign up for this class you are asking to not have an A in bus comm. You will not make an A. Your friends won't make an A. Your class average will be a C. This is your wish. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:BUS 3315 - Who tf let me take this trash boo boo teacher. This is a Baylor English teacher that pronounces parentheses, par-en-ta-tees. She took 20 points off of an email assignment because it sounded too realistic. I'm not even joking. How do you prove you made something up and didn't take it from your emails. She wants no-one to succeed, and for a class that should be an easy A on writing resumes and learning grammar, she makes it impossible. I had no idea why I signed up for her class but it is the single most regretted decision in my Baylor career. DO NOT TAKE HER, AT ANY COST! - Grade In Class:B
Comments:BUS 3315 - WARNING! AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS! If you do end up stuck in her class don’t go into office hours and get on ehr bad side early, she will hold it against you for the rest of the semester. The workload in the class is extremely heavy for the content that we are covering. We cover basically all grammar in class and I felt like I was back in middle school learning how to write a sentence. She overemphasizes on what she wants doen in assignment, and grades EXTREMELY hard. She was originally an english professor, and I have no clue who let her teach in the business school. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:BUS 3315 - This class has an unnecessary amount of emphasis on grammar. We had four two-hour-long grammar assignments throughout the semester and a final grammar test worth 10 percent of our grade. The class average on this test was extremely poor and single-handedly brought my grade down from an A. For a business communication class, the workload was way too high and more challenging than it needed to be. I think Professor Assink has good intentions, but because she is a former English teacher, the class was more focused on grammatical correctness than it should have been. - Grade In Class:B+
Comments:BUS 3315 - Assink is an English teacher teaching in the business school (she actually has two offices in the different schools). Assink is a very poor grader and is very ambiguous in defining the criteria for assignments. We do peer reviews for every assignment and even though you fix the information your peers highlight in your papers, you still will get a poor grade. I've gotten a fairly poor to decent grades on assignments and have spent hours upon hours fixing the papers to make them as close as I can to a 100. She does not give 100s. She creates a perception of each student from the first week of class and continues on with that perception. She is by no means a generous grader. If you miss a single class she expects you to watch the entire lecture, do all assignments done in class, and write a paragraph about what you learned. The class is very unforgiving. there are 4 assignments that are about 200 multiple choice questions each and super boring. On some days some students had technical difficulties with the website being down and could submit the assignment and the students would email her and she still gave them a 0. Thankfully I was not one of those students. She wears a mask to every class and gets very uncomfortable when you go up to talk to her without a mask (this is after the Baylor mask policy change to no mask in class). I understand this is a health priority for her and I totally get that, but it creates a distinct separation from her and her students that makes them feel closed off from. Like I said, most students believe she creates and image of each student and determines there grade from day one. - Grade In Class:B
Comments:3315 - Absurd amount of busy work. Pointless lectures and tough grading. Don't get on her bad side, she will hold it against you the entire semester. Do not take her class. - Grade In Class:B
