*A 5 star workload is an easy workload; a 3 star is average; whereas a 1 star workload is extremely hard.
Comments:REL 4317 - Dr. Longenecker is a world-renowned scholar with incredible teaching ability. Quizzes each class can be tiring, but they are easy with a skim of the readings. HIGHLY recommend Dr. Longenecker. Many professors in Tidwell are very rigid, but Dr. Longenecker works WITH students to bring about learning. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3314 (Paul & His Writings - Dr. Longenecker is one of the best professor's I have had a Baylor. He is incredibly kind and fair. He is very available to meet if you have questions of any kind. Also, my class included a mid-term with 20 multiple choice and two essays questions (out of 8), then a final which was similar and a 6-7 page critical book review of "Justification" by NT Wright. Dr. Longencker is one of the best professors in the religion department and if you have a chance to take him, don't pass on it. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:Jesus in Film and Fiction - Dr. Longenecker is one of the best professors I've had in the religion department. He taught in a seminar-style class where we sat in a semi circle and had open conversation. His tests were very fair, 100% essay. And his grading was also really fair. The workload for this class was a little heavy, only because we read a book every week. He is a great prof though - he tries to make the class enjoyable for everyone. I would really recommend him. - Grade In Class:A
Comments:3311 - This class was by far the hardest I've EVER had at Baylor. I started out the semester over halfway through a religion minor and dropped it solely because of this class. I feel like I learned I lot, but the suffering that had to happen just to understand what was going on in class far outweighed the knowledge I gained. Dr. Longenecker is beyond dull and just talks about whatever he feels like every day. He assigns hundreds of pages of reading and rarely mentions it in class. I got absolutely nothing from his lectures. And yet, the quizzes and tests are INDESCRIBABLY HARD. He is super vague about what is on the tests, so you end up spending hours and hours trying to memorize everything. I tried harder in this class than I have in any class at Baylor (and this was my 7th semester), and still am barely pulling off a decent grade. Only take this class if you know what you're getting into, and be more than prepared to suffer almost daily for an entire semester. - Grade In Class:B+
