Comments:Comm - I have never dropped a class before. I've had my fair share of bad teachers but medhurst comes in at #1 for the worst teacher I have ever had. He is completely subjective when he grades and just picks favorites and could give a rip about the rest of the students. He has no grading rubric and when I went in to question my test I politely asked to see his grading rubric and he didn't have one. Joke of a teacher, not to mention the most boring professor ever. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. AT ALL COSTS FRIENDS.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:PSC - I usually make A's but this guy is something else. ok so he will just be talking with no inflection in his voice and then randomly raise his voice and it sounds like he's yelling at the book trying to read. This is literally the worst professor at Baylor, and I'm a senior so I've had quite a few. Don't even take medhurst as a last resort, wait another semester to get another teacher I'm serious. he's so freaking boring  - Grade In Class:D

Comments:PSC - WOW! This is the worst professor I've had at Baylor! I could go on for hours about how bad this "teacher" is. He gets defensive if you challenge his wacky liberal ideas. THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST BIASED TEACHER EVER. His grading style makes no sense, and even if you answer the question correctly it's up to him if it's correct. Avoid this guy at all costs, I hope he gets fired. Professors like this don't belong at Baylor or anywhere for that matter.  - Grade In Class:C+

Comments:AA Comm - Let's start with this. I made an account just to post this review. That's how bad this teacher is. Medhurst is an ignorant fool, and I hate his guts. He's an old white guy teaching a class on African American history. He is a yellow-dog democrat and pushes his liberal ideology more than teaching the class. He's very engulfed by the idea of trying to appeal to only people of color in class, instead of just treating every student the same. He grades based on if he likes you, and if you're a liberal. He gives athletes priority. I heard him whisper to an athlete that he could just come to office hours. The student said they "didn't know anything" during the test... I looked at my other classmates exams, and further confirmed this bias. He gives a Bluebook and circles what he thinks you got correct, it's all subjective. I answered the essay's with 3 pages for each question in addition to providing factual answers to the questions asked. One of my friends in the class agreed that he is COMPLETELY BIASED. We then both agreed on how it made us angry that teacher's are biased. This guy is an idiot also and doesn't know what he's talking about. This useless moron sits down to read the textbook in a slow monotone voice the whole class period without raising his head to look up.   - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:3302 - Not a bad guy, very traditional lecture style teaching, and very firm on his rules... so much so that he was unwilling to help students academically after their homes were destroyed by Hurricane Harvey. He sometimes goes off on tangents in his lectures. Class is not bad, several quizzes and papers and thats the whole course.  - Grade In Class:DROP

Comments:PSC/CSS 4340 - This man is the most ridiculous professor I've ever come across here! First of all, the classes that he teaches are a waste of time and offer nothing of substance. At the start of the course, Medhurst acts like he is a fair teacher who bases his grades on performance when in reality he picks favorites. If your not one of his favorites then forget even coming to class! His tests are stupid...he gives you blue book exams and grades them based on the exams of his "chosen few" favorites! Medhurst is just a biased, worthless professor on a power trip! If your looking for a worthwhile course or a competent professor than AVOID MEDHURST AT ALL COSTS!!!  - Grade In Class:C
